So far, I have accomplished all research tasks/ posts for my magazine. Now I am moving onto the magazine design. this involves creating the layout of the cover, contents and double page spread, as well as images need for them. At the moment, I am slightly behind target because of a large amount of work from other courses. In order to catch up, I will gather the necessary images, as well as increase production on the magazine pages themselves.

• The magazine is starting to become fleshed out.
• The mast head is finalised and connotes much towards the indie rock genre.
• Choice of words in the mode of adress also fits in with brand identity.
• There is also a variety of fonts which all fit in nicely with the layout of the cover.

• It was suggested to iclude more colour, however the absence in a variety of colour is what my brandy identity is about.
• I will try to include more cover in several locations on the cover.
• Other conventions could be included if possible.

• Do you prefer the magazine to be mainly images or text? why?

I think that there should be a middle ratio because i'd wish to get info whilst seeing visual.

• What sort of image appeals more to you on a cover?

Artists posing in front of camera because it is an interesting artistic approach.

• what features should I include?

Articles of stories about new stuff with artists and reviews, including a list of some kind.

• should i take a more casual approach or higher register?

I would suggest a highly casual layout because indie rock is casual at its core basis.

Summery

From the feedback, i have gain some useful incite into the audience i am aiming for. Firstly i have found that splitting the text to image ratio as 1:1 should be considered. I have also solidified my idea to produce a posed artist shot for my front cover. I am also going to include features such as news arcticles and reviews as well as a top ten chart. As i had already concluded, i Will make the format of my magazine very casual, so that it links in with the fundamental aspects of indie rock.

For the cover, I decided to take inspiration from my photography ideas post and use a young adult for the module. Along with the shirt, which referenced a certain popular indie rock band, and the guitar as a prop, all aspects were added to appeal to the target audience . The blank background was a design choice i made to keep the focus on the module.

For a double page spread. I needed a wide spread shot of the module in a location. The multiple props all connoted ideas of the indie rock genre. the green and brown backdrop of the trees and grass contrast against the blue and white of the modules cloths. the long wide shot was a decision made so that the image could fit across 2 pages.

• Locations - in town/ somewhere mundane and normal

• Costumes - typical young adult clothes, indie t-shirt, jeans, hoodie, converses
