double page spread draft 1

Double page spread

How did your band start?
Well it was pretty weird really. We all wanted to music but nothing was ever concrete till we got Outta School. It all just clicked into place, you know?

When was your big break?
About a year or so, we were just playin in the local pubs. One night we got approached by our manager. That’s when we began cooking up our first album, and everyone was well pleased with it.

Who was your biggest idol in your early days?
We were massive fans of a few bands like Oasis and The Kaiser Chiefs back in the day. I think they helped us make our songs more raw and alternate; sort of helped us to stand out from the crowd. But some modern stuff like Muse, I think we can learn a few tricks off them.

So what made you guys want to go on tour finally?
For us, we always like playin to a live crowd than being stuck in the recording room. But I don’t think any of us expected how many fans we had. Man, so far crowds turning up have been massive, just completely insane!

You must be pretty stretched out with all your touring so far?
Well no one can know what it’s like until you do it, so it did come as a shock to us how demanding it was. But we absolutely love it! At the moment, we are in such a good place; I would hate going back to how things were.

Let’s talk about your album that you recently released, what direction were you trying to take it in?
Yeah sure, the album was fun to do. We wanted to go somewhere different with it, like a more modern feel to it. So we started listening to some current bands. It helped us to get a feel for it and then we just experimented for a couple months until we hit it. I like to think the quality of our songs grow, as us as a band grow. At the end of the day, whatever our fans scream, we deliver.

You said your new album was influenced by other modern bands today. Can we expect to see any of them as a supporting act on your tour?
We approached some of them if they wanted to back us up. I’m happy that Muse said yes. It’s just a complete honour to be sharing our gigs with them.

What are your guys plans next?
Wow, it pretty early to say really. After we’ve smashed our tour, we will probably take a break for a while until we fell ready to cook up something fresh for everyone.

font cover progression 1

AT this stage, the cover al close to finishing. An image has been inserted and the layout has been perfected as far as it can. Here are some things that i can do to improve on finishing touches:

  •  insert bar code- maybe somewhere on the side of the cover.
  • Consider including something in the background to bring the primary image out.
  • insert puff poster examples at bottom left hand corner.
  • intergrate 'Indie Rock' font when aquired.

front cover feedback 2

  • AT this stage, Other people told me that the font that are used here are effective. it is also to be noted that not all fonts for the final draft are present here, such as the 'indie rock' font.
  • I also got rid of the secondary image because I found that it might take away from the primary image significants and I found that most of the researched magazines had no such secondary image.
  • Other features such as a barcode and more cover lines will be intergrated as well.
